This one will give your cellphone, laptop, camera and other devices the power that they crave.  All of those devices plug into the Chargepod and the Chargepod itself only takes up one of your outlets.  You’ll need different cable tips to accommodate your different devices and each one will probably cost you about $10 a piece.  Then for the device itself it’ll cost you about $200.

Most of us have flatbed scanners at home, and many of them take a few minutes to scan a single document. Even though the resolution and clarity of today’s scanners is better than it was ten years ago, the speed of scanning remains almost the same. Scanners are also bulky, and take up a lot of space.

This is not the case with the Hovercam Scanner. Just to let you know, there is no hovering technology involved to make the scanner float in air, but it is way more advanced than most scanners.

As you can see, the Hovercam takes up less room, and you can see a long digital camera atop the mast on this thing. The user sticks their document or anything underneath that camera, and an image is scanned and photographed in seconds rather than the slow minutes of most scanners.

The Hovercam is designed by Pathway Innovations, and saves the scans in RIA (Rich Internet Application). Images can then be dragged and dropped into folders and then turned into PDFs.

The Hovercam also has a built-in microphone which makes it a visual presenter much better than those overhead projectors. There is also a version called the CardPro that is also a great device for scanning business cards.

A Hovercam for home use, the X300, sells for about $139.99. The Office model, the X500, sells for about $199.99, and the previously mentioned CardPro sells for $79.99.

Vuzix 920AR augmented reality glasses is their present models simply have LCDs at the eyes as well as headphones on the frames, so a user can watch their video on the road as a very private experience.

The last time we cover Vuzix and augmented reality, it was at GDC 2009. Well, they were up to some new tricks at CES 2010. Hit the jump if you want to see a video of it.

The Wrap 920AR has a camera that can capture video a 752 x 480 resolution at 60fps, and combine it with a 1504 x 480 stereoscopic 3D image. You can see on the video some guy playing some sort of game with the goggles.

You will notice the man playing the game is doing nothing but looking at a bunch of strange symbols. These are the augmented reality codes that we have seen before on other entertaining applications, and the Wrap 920AR has many uses, but we already covered that with the short film. It should be out in March, but my source doesn’t have a price.

I wouldn’t recommend you placing this beside the TV or coffee table if you happen to hold regular gaming sessions of Wii in your living room, nor will I recommend households with boisterous dogs to have these since the chances of knocking it over would be much higher than Iran developing nuclear weapons (if they haven’t yet done so already).

The company recently announced that they will be rolling three more Razor LED models that are extremely slim, measuring no more than 1″ in length, with one of them being full well capable of receiving broadcasts courtesy of its new ATSC-M/H mobile/handheld platform which can operate when you’re on the go – yup, we’re talking about mobile TV here in LED format which ought to elicit a Pavlovian response with you salivating already.

You know how consumer electronics manufacturers have to come up with something different and new each year to keep the masses satisfied? Well, with 3D being the last frontier (they say that every year concerning whatever new technology that was announced), could we see mobile 3D TVs being the next big thing? Vizio might be walking down that path, but in the meantime we will have to be satisfied with their Razor LED mobile TV range that features 800 x 480 resolution, as it pulls down ATSC broadcasts while displaying them in screen sizes of 7″, 9″ and 10″. If there is one thing that I cannot stand, it is pickle jars. Generally, the lids are so tight and the base is so wide that they are almost impossible to open. However, if I had myself one of these Lids Off Jar Opener things from Black and Decker, then I would probably never have to worry about that again.
